follow the money..?

by Judy
(Trenton,Tenn.)

Is the Bakken oil field on federal or private land? Who is drilling there? Who is furnishing the money? If it is on federal land how much money is returned to the tax payer? Oil has screwed the tax payer too ofter to have any faith in them.

The Bakken doesn't follow propery lines. Some is on public, while the majority is on PRIVATE land. 15% of every barrel in ND is paid directly to the state, as well as the income and corporate taxes paid by all in the industry. That 15% pays for the majority of the state budget, including all social programs not limited to fuel assistance. OMG! The big, bad oil is paying to heat the homes of the poor! What a bunch of SOB's we are! When gas was over $4, did the socialists ever suggest they suspend the taxes?(THE ANSWER IS NO.)Who is screwing the taxpayer Ma'am? You make me sick. 53% of oil workers were laid off in 1999. How was your 401k doing? The reason the ND oil industry didn't complain is because we live within our means. We don't expect, and we don't receive big gov money in ND. The rest of you whiners could take a few lessons from us dummies up in the tundra flyover.
