The completely free OpenOffice software suite makes it into this list because of its spreadsheet (known as the Calc) and data base capabilities. There are many mathematical concepts that can be taught on OpenOffice's spreadsheet program. It is effectively identical to the very expensive Microsoft Excel, though the latest version of Excel does have better conditional formatting options.
All the formulae that you use on Excel work in OpenOffice, and this is not a coincidence. The open source producers of OpenOffice go out of their way to make its functionality on a par if not better than that of Microsoft.The assignment math work that applies to spreadsheets can be used in the OpenOffice Calc program.
