Kyocera Solar Panels: Manufacturer Information
Warranty Kyocera solar panels are supported by a 20 year manufacturer's warranty that covers the efficiency of the panel. The warranty allows for degradation of performance to 80% of the minimum power output of the panel as stated on the manufacturer's datasheet. Other components such as external circuitry of these panels have warranties of between three and five years. Quality of Panels Kyocera states that their panels will perform at no less than 95% of the minimum stated power output. The 5% difference is to allow for variations in panels that occur in the manufacturing process. This low variance is due to the quality build of the panels and is applied to all of their panels. A panel that is not up to this standard will be replaced. Many cheaper solar panels will have a claim of 90% or greater performance. The 95% mark set by Kyocera indicates that the panels are well made and this combined with the 20 year warranty makes Kyocera panels a good investment. Kyocera's Environmental Credentials Kyocera has a long history of working toward long life component technology, improved recycling capacity of their products, power efficiency and minimized and environmentally friendly packaging. In the competitive modern marketplace such ethics are not always profitable in the short term. Kyocera's willingness to continue with this approach in the long term indicates that this company has a genuine focus on environmental responsibility.
