Learning Mixed Numbers The Easy Way
Mixed numbers are easy to learn when presented on the number line. Not only that, but the conversion to improper fractions and vice versa also becomes very simple when presented this way. Using number lines for this work allows your child to see the rules in operation and even find out the conversion rules for herself.
What You'll Need FirstThis topic requires a couple of basic skills in order to understand it fully. Your child will need to be familiar with basic fractions and putting fractions on the number line. If these have not yet been covered, please take a few minutes to review them. ExamplesI'll start with some simple examples using halves and thirds.
