The state is aiming to produce 25% of its energy from renewable sources by the year 2013, and to make this happen the government is making lots of money available for rebates on home solar installations as well as other green energy projects. Up until September 2009 the state government will is making $13.8 million available for rebates on home solar installations. These rebates are offered through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Rebates are available for installations performed by Eligible Installers.
