The K3 Personal Wind Power
And Solar Charger

personal wind power This personal wind power charger is a combination of a solar charger and a wind powered charger. This makes it far more versatile, as it will be able to charge effectively on cloudy, windy days when a solar-only device would struggle. The robust design makes this device very portable.

Great For Outdoors

I can imagine this device being used in a similar way to the Solio solar charger, hanging off the back of your pack as you hike through the wilderness. The device has a large broad base for stability, so you can set it down facing the wind. This would be a little more difficult to take advantage of if you're on the move, but it does provide the opportunity for the device to charge throughout the night if there is a breeze. The charger is weatherproof, so you don't need to worry about it getting ruined if it rains.

Connectivity And Charge

The charger comes with a USB port and a swag of connection tips to allow it to connect to the vast majority of mobile devices. However, it is always worth checking that your gadgets will connect before you put your money into it. It also has an AC adaptor so you can charge it from mains electricity if you choose.

The battery in the charger reportedly holds enough energy to recharge an average mobile phone up to five times. There are four LEDs on the side of the case to indicate the power status at a glance.

The manufacturers of this device are Kinesis Industries. This charger is set to hit the shelves in the middle of 2009, so keep an eye out for it.
