Portable Solar Panels
For Your Home

Portable Solar Panels: One of the biggest bummers about home solar installations is that they stay put if you move house. It's also possible that you won't get the return on the investment you made. New startup company Verandah Solar plans to overcome this problem by providing solar panels that you can install yourself than take with you if you move.

portable solar panels At present the panels are planned to be 60 Watt capacity and Verandah will be selling 600 Watt inverters to connect the panels to the household electricity supply. That means you can attach 10 of these panels to one inverter. If you want to have more than 600W of solar electricity going into your home, you'll need to purchase additional inverters and up to three of these can be added to a standard home wiring.

Many Benefits

A major advantage of these panels is that you can remove them and store them away safely if you are going on holiday, preventing theft of the units while you're not home. They can also be brought inside in case of extreme weather events, which is not possible with regular household installations. For storage, these panels fold flat so they take up as little space as possible

There is no need to have the panels or the inverter professionally installed, which is another saving.

Federal Tax Credits

If you purchase these panels you are eligible for federal solar tax credits and may also be eligible for further State based solar power rebates.

When Will We See Them?

Verandah Solar is yet to begin mass production of these units, but they expect to have them commercially available in the next year or two. Keep an eye out for these products!
