It's All Fossil Fuels
by: Phil

The politicians posture and whine about green energy in this country but the reality is the country is incredibly energy inefficient. Almost all our power comes from brown coal, the worst kind of coal.

There are some token efforts at green energy but these are just so the government can dodge the issue.

Public transport is a complete farce in all the capital cities I have visited and is probably at its worst in Melbourne. This forces dependence on cars so the governments guild more roads saying people only want to drive and thus refuses to build any significant new train lines.

The politicians' hypocrisy is so great that they are now calling natural gas a renewable energy! Can you believe it? They then use that gas in their estimates and quotas for greenhouse gas reductions. What a joke.

Why don't they just label brown coal as a green renewable energy, then we'll have no problem at all.
