The Regen Reverb
Solar Powered Amplifier

The soon to be released Regen Reverb Solar Powered iPod Dock can accept both iPods and iPhones and can crank out a serious volume of noise.

The 3 foot tall 60 Watt amplifier has built in thin film solar panels on it’s sides that allow it to charge its built in battery during sunlight hours. At normal noise levels one hour of sunlight equates roughly to one hour of play time, but if you want to crank out mega volume then the battery will only last a quarter of that time on the same amount of sun.

The device can also be plugged into mains electricity to run and charge. That's all very nice and the solar panels may well help out in a crisis (?) but the item will come with a hefty price tag. At $2299 it'd want to be a seriously good machine. For that amount of cash one could purchase not only a superb stereo but also a quantity of solar panels with the change. The device is set for release in April 2010.
