Ridiculous standards

by David
(Houston, Tx)

I love the way the environmentalists puts down each and every potential and actual oil and gas play and reserve development as being immaterial since no one of them can solve our entire energy problem. This is no different than the fact that no one solar panel installation or wind farm can solve all of our power needs. They also talk about the long lead time for development (much of which is caused by challenges by the environmentalists) while ignoring the even longer lead time for the supposed renewables. It always makes me suspicious when environmentalists object to drilling on the economics (given that they should be overjoyed if the oil and gas industry goes broke on uneconomic and long lead time projects). No, the real reason they object is just the opposite - they are afraid that these drilling prospects will be successful.
