Rockin the Bakken!

by Wyohellbilly@live.com
(Wyo/Ndak)

I flow test new wells in the Bakken Shale of North Dakota. These wells rock! I've never seen a well puke up 3000 Barrels of oil per day in my life until I worked out there. The Bakken is a bad ass formation that should be drilled! The people in North Dakota are also happy to drill unlike the snobs (mostly from the East) in Wyoming. Let's keep drillin...

Bakken & Eggs
by: G-MA

I call it Bakken & Eggs because there is alot of bacon (oil) all over this country that the oil companies can get rocking. However there are more eggs (rotten)government/politicians that hold a lock on our hands. They are not interested in we, the people, only we, the crooked government. They couldn't give a hoot about jobs! The only jobs they care about is theirs and how fast they can fill their pockets with our sweat and blood!

They are trumpeting it, open your eyes
by: dON

The cost per barrel in the BAKKEN is now down at the $11.00 mark. The wells produce for many years. Most are new, so the record is from older technology where 40 years is happening. They are drilling and producing massive wells by normal standards. The data from this article is very out of date.

It is or should be criminal that we send such massive amounts of our dollars to foreign countries. Our national security is really threatened. Produce US power. Natural Gas and Nuclear Power should be pursued more heavily. We are stupid, face it. Solar and Wind are great but cannot supply continuously for the consumer and have their own environmental problems.

Yes Sustainable
by: Author

The Bakken is very sustainable....but like any other pool of oil or gas there is a decline. The Los Angeles Oil Field and several others in just Southern California have been producing since the and of the 19th Century and are still cost sustainable fields. The lower producing and older oil fields still make up about 25% of total US production which is still a very large amount of oil. Look up the Bakken on Google and you will find many articles regarding it. It is in the news often, mostly reporting how the field is turning around the economy in North Dakota. They say there is a new millionaire daily in North Dakota, mostly landowners and small towns. I have met some of the nicest people in North Dakota. I can't wait to head back there for a 5 week long assignment , starting next week.

not sustainable
by: sandra

yeah sure but how sustainable is it?? Not very, I am sure. If the science of this formation was solid they'd be trumpeting it in all the papers and news.
