Security, special interests and natural gas.

by Gordon
(Barbados)

I am not a tree hugger but the environment along with population expansion on a finite planet and some cultural differences with Islam are likely to be the big challenges for the next 50 years. What I cannot understand is why US residents will send their sons & daughters to wars - very patriotic - but won't drive a few extra miles to fill up with natural gas which the US has in massive quantities. T Boone Pickens has been pushing this on CNN etc.It is 30% cleaner, cheap and available. It costs, I am told $300 to convert your car from gasoline to natural gas.
If you do it and get a few others to do it, it will reach the Tipping Pointand become readily available. This means jobs in the US, the money for energy remains in the US and is not sent to people who rejoice whenever there is a catastrophe in the US. Come on - just do it.
