Why wait?

I believe that it would be an accurate prediction to say that what will most likely happen will be the following. The middle east will one day "aquire" this oil deposit from us. We will sell it to them because we cannot afford to extract the oil. They will figure out a way to get the oil and thus continue the stranglehold that they have on this country. And the sad part is that they will undoubtedly make a huge profit on their investment.
It seems that this country has been selling out for so long, that it is the new American way. I would really be interested in finding out just how expensive it would be to bring that oil up. It's sad that our government won't bat an eyelash at buying a stealth bomber for over one billion dollars, yet to develop a system for something of this magnitude and importance doesn't even get an honest effort. If we sold the land to the Saudis tomorrow, within a year we would be buying that oil from them. What the hell happened to this country?
